Located in the village of Watkins Glen, our hotel offers the perfect vantage point from which to explore wine trails, craft breweries, distilleries, historic attractions, water-sports, outdoor adventure, and more! JOB OVERVIEW Maintains hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner; assisting both the Housekeeping and Hotel Front Office with delivery of guest special requests, supplies and/or linens.
REPORTS TO:
Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Executive Housekeeper ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Include the following; however, other duties may be assigned.
1.
Stock linen closets and guestrooms with amenities and supplies for Room Attendants; assist supervisors with heavy items delivered from vendors.
2.
Responds to guest requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies in a timely and efficient manner.
Greeting and acknowledging guest in a courteous and friendly manner.
3.
Re-arrange and moves furniture as requested and prepares sample rooms for Sales tours.
4.
Collects soiled linens for laundering and transports as needed to the laundry room.
5.
Participates in Housekeeping programs such as mattress rotation, duvet maintenance, deep cleaning and quarterly inspections.
6.
Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas; sweeping, waxing, and polishing floors as requested.
7.
Washes walls, ceiling, woodwork windows, door panels, and sills and immediately reports any emergencies, injuries, missing articles, damages, mechanical problems, and safety hazards.
8.
Empties wastebaskets, ashtrays, cleans, and removes debris from the driveway and parking lot, transports trash and waste to disposal receptacles.
9.
Delivers television sets, ironing boards, cribs, and rollaway beds to guestrooms upon request.
10.
Respond to guest requests, concerns, and problems to ensure guest satisfaction and impress guests with quality and timely service in a friendly and efficient manner 11.
Perform duties of Lobby Attendant, Turndown Attendant, or Laundry Attendant as assigned.
12.
Practices safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, follow standard operating procedures and OSHA Guidelines.
13.
Promptly turns into housekeeping management and all articles left in guestrooms after checkout for entry into lost and found.
14.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis in uniform with nametag.
Be well versed and informed regarding hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good communications skills; self-starting personality with an even disposition; maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times; can communicate well with guests.
Must be willing to pitch-in and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player; knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment; ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs; ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms overhead to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined space; stoop, squat, and stretch on a regular basis; attention to detail with good organizational and efficient time management skills.
